Built for

Audit, risk, compliance and revenue-assurance teams

Primary outcome

A traceable view of risks, controls, findings and follow-up actions.

A closer look

Turn scattered reviews into a clear assurance record.

An audit finding is useful when the right person can understand the evidence, take responsibility and follow it through. Sentinel Assure brings that work into permission-controlled workspaces, alongside the data and document tools an analyst needs to investigate an exception.

The assurance overview

Inside Sentinel Assure

The capabilities behind the workflow.

01

Accountable registers

Track owners, status, priority, deadlines and evidence references for risks, audits, controls, compliance obligations and remediation. Revenue-assurance fields support the configured deployment.

  • Risk exposure uses recorded likelihood and impact.
  • Remediation actions retain owners and due dates.
  • Amounts under review are not independently verified collections.

02

Workspace privacy

Owners share each workspace with the appropriate Viewer or Editor access. Staff administration does not bypass this business-record boundary.

  • Grant ownership or explicit membership.
  • Review access when responsibilities change.
  • Revoke membership when the engagement ends.

03

Document analysis

The studio extracts supported spreadsheets, text, Office files, PDFs and common images. Image OCR uses local Tesseract resources.

  • Use supported formats and bounded samples.
  • Check extracted text against the original document.
  • Treat sample statistics as sample statistics.

04

Reviewed data queries

Permitted staff can browse a bounded source schema and prepare a question using the configured database adapters.

  • Review inferred relationships and query intent.
  • Keep credentials out of model prompts.
  • Test the actual database version and dialect.

05

Local AI assistance

Configured local Ollama models support query planning and draft observations. The resource manager supports approved model downloads.

  • Choose a model that fits the available host.
  • Retain source context for review.
  • Confirm local resources before analysis.

06

Reports and follow-up

Reports show findings, coverage, workload, deadlines and underlying record references. Supported exports include PDF, HTML and CSV.

  • Filter by workstream, owner and due dates.
  • Use protected CSV exports for spreadsheets.
  • Review overlapping amounts before summing.

In practice

Follow the work from preparation to review.

WORKFLOW 01

Start with the work that needs attention

A reviewer opens the workspace to understand which assessments, reconciliation items and cases are still open. The risk landscape provides a second view of registered exposure; owners and due dates give the team a practical way to decide what to review next.

Keep the finding, its evidence reference and the responsible owner together. A change in status should reflect the review that actually happened. A completed item is a recorded workflow state; independent assurance still depends on the organisation’s evidence and review process.

  1. Agree the workspace and the people permitted to use it.
  2. Record the review item, owner, priority and due date.
  3. Follow up exceptions and retain the outcome.

WORKFLOW 02

Investigate the exception, then review the source

A reconciliation question may begin in a spreadsheet, an image of a document or an authorised database. The studio gives analysts a place to prepare supported inputs and explore the intended source scope. Where local AI is configured, draft analysis can assist the reviewer.

The analyst remains responsible for checking extracted text, table relationships, query scope and the returned rows. Read-only database permissions are an essential deployment boundary. Local models, OCR resources and connector dependencies must be installed and validated for the actual inputs.

  1. Select a permitted source or supported file.
  2. Check extraction or review the proposed query before execution.
  3. Link a substantiated observation back to the assurance record.

WORKFLOW 03

Give management a report they can follow up

A report should help a manager understand what was reviewed and what still needs action. Sentinel Assure reporting draws on workspace records and selected filters, so the reviewer can connect the summary to the work behind it.

Use the supported PDF, HTML and CSV outputs for the intended audience. Review the scope, dates, statuses and ownership before sharing. Protect exported files under the organisation’s information-handling policy; an export does not automatically retain the application’s access restrictions.

  1. Choose the reporting workstream and relevant filters.
  2. Review open items, priorities and the underlying record context.
  3. Export the reviewed report and assign the next actions.

People and responsibilities

Give each role a clear part in the process.

Super administrator

Create staff accounts and grant workspace-creation or external-analysis permissions. Business-record access still requires ownership or sharing.

Workspace owner

Manage membership, assign accountability and review assurance records.

Editor

Maintain records and follow-up actions in the shared workspace.

Viewer

Read and export authorised reports without changing records.

Illustrative examples

Where the product can fit your work.

An audit finding needs follow-up

An assurance team records a control weakness and supporting references.

  1. Record the finding, priority and evidence.
  2. Assign a remediation owner and due date.
  3. Review overdue work and export the filtered report.

Practical value: The review follows the issue to its responsible officer and recorded response.

Requirements: Staff must maintain source evidence and current record status.

A reconciliation exception needs investigation

An analyst reviews an authorised finance or revenue source.

  1. Connect using a scoped source account.
  2. Prepare and review the proposed query.
  3. Check source rows before recording a finding.

Practical value: The query result supports an accountable investigation.

Requirements: Read-only grants, correct relationships and a supported dialect are required.

A restricted workspace needs a reviewer

An owner invites an independent staff reviewer.

  1. Grant Viewer membership.
  2. Review records and download the report.
  3. Revoke membership after the engagement.

Practical value: Read and edit permissions remain explicit.

Requirements: The reviewer needs an active account and the appropriate membership.

A scanned document needs analysis

A team receives a supported spreadsheet or scanned page.

  1. Upload the supported file.
  2. Review the extracted text or bounded dataset.
  3. Check local AI observations against the original.

Practical value: Findings remain tied to supplied evidence.

Requirements: OCR quality, supported formats and processing limits apply.

Before you decide

Questions your team may ask.

Does Sentinel Assure monitor cameras?

No. Sentinel Assure handles assurance workspaces and data analysis. Camera and building access belong to Sentinel SiteGuard.

Does AI make audit or tax decisions?

No. Staff review generated plans, source rows and draft observations.

Can an administrator read every workspace?

No. Ownership or explicit sharing is required for business-record access.

Does every database version work?

Documented adapters still need validation against actual server versions and permitted schemas.

Does document analysis support every file?

Only documented formats and processing limits are supported. OCR output requires review.
